Why Locals Love Nasi goreng depan Lapas
Nasi Goreng Depan Lapas is a beloved local eatery nestled on Jl. Condronegoro in the heart of Biak Numfor, Papua. Specializing in nasi goreng—a quintessential Indonesian fried rice dish—this humble spot has caught the attention of residents and visitors alike with its straightforward yet satisfying approach to classic flavors.
While the menu focuses primarily on nasi goreng, the restaurant also delights patrons with other popular offerings such as kwetiaw goreng seafood and mie ayam. Seafood lovers will appreciate the generous portions of fresh shrimp and squid infused into the nasi goreng seafood variant, creating a harmonious blend of oceanic sweetness and savory spices that dance on the palate. The kwetiaw goreng, priced at a reasonable 50,000 IDR per serving, is praised for its authentic Chinese food essence that's a rarity in the Biak culinary scene.
One cannot overlook the popular pangsit kuah—a soulful, savory soup with delicate wontons that adds a comforting touch to the meal. The mix of tender bakso (meatballs), succulent chicken, and fresh seafood elevates every bite, offering layers of texture and taste that linger pleasantly. Some customers have noted minor fluctuations in seasoning, sometimes tipping towards saltiness, but the vibrant flavors consistently draw them back.
The dining atmosphere mirrors the restaurant’s modest character: unpretentious and welcoming, perfect for casual meals filled with genuine local charm. Although wait times can be a tad long during busy hours, the evident care in each dish makes the anticipation worthwhile. Adding an extra cook might speed things up, but the current setup maintains a personal, hand-crafted feel to each plate.
For anyone exploring Papua’s culinary landscape, Nasi Goreng Depan Lapas offers an authentic taste experience where fresh ingredients meet comforting recipes. Whether you're craving the rich flavors of seafood fried rice or the comforting textures of kwetiaw goreng and mie ayam, this spot assures a memorable, flavorful journey that celebrates the region’s love for good food.

Nama restorannya Mie Bandung namun orang biasa menyebutnya "Nasi Goreng Koh Afung" atau "nasi goreng depan lapas". Menu nya bukan hanya nasi goreng tapi ada juga mie, pangsit, cumi mentega, capcay dan beragam makanan lainnya khas restoran chinese. Kalau halal saya lupa nanya pas makan tapi sejauh mata memandang menu, tidak ada menu non halal. Pangsit kuahnya enak sekali. Nasi gorengnya oke sih cuma bukan terenak se Biak.
